When the pavement ends…the car must go on!
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4×4 is kind of a legend among the off road vehicles. It retains the catchy look we all want along with the higher performance qualities of a military vehicle. The Jeep Wrangler is lifted a bit more than a normal vehicle, but that’s part of its beauty right! The Unlimited model brings a four door option, and the advantage of choosing your hard top color. The two door model now has a 3.6 – liter engine and a V-6 cylinder greatly outperforming the older models. Both, the exterior and the interior, offer comfort and please the eye of the driver.
The Hummer – one of the best off-road vehicle?
Hummer
Still, one of the most popular off-road vehicles is the Hummer. All models are equipped to take you anywhere off the paved road. These beasts are known for their gigantic size and somewhat unique look. Hummers are heavy-duty, military vehicles because of their weight and main use in the military. They run on diesel, so we could consider them somewhat fuel efficient. The cruising range of a Hummer is about 400 miles with 30-40 mph crawling a hard surface. It is one of the best off-road vehicles you can buy. Still, I am not sure if it’s the best vehicle for some of the most dangerous roads in the world. But if you happen to drive on of these, let us know please!
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Jeeps lead the chart when it comes to off-road vehicles. The Cherokee is probably one of the best vehicles for hitting the trails on weekends. Some Jeep fans don’t like the exterior and the interior, but after years of fine tuning, the newest models are really pleasing to the eye. It is a midsize and it has three levels of off-road four wheel drive system ready to hit the rough roads. It has electronic stability program and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. Some consider it almost the best, for others is just the best.
Everything you need and nothing you don’t.
Nissan Xterra S 4X4-3
Nissan Xterra – To some it feels a little dated, but it is the one off-road vehicle that’s become a lifestyle for many. It can handle any rocky mountain road, in many cases even better than some of its competitors in the category of the best off-road vehicles. It has six-speed manual transmission and now don’t be shocked, manual locks and windows. You just roll them down, manually! The Xterra is just made to make you feel that you are really out in the wild, not to comfort you that much. Yet, it can be quite an extension to your home; there is enough space for everything. If you often go road tripping or camping this is a great vehicle to consider. Are you ready to take it out?
Subaru Forester 2014
This one is a stable and affordable SUV that was shying away from the main stream off road vehicles list. Coming from the Japanese automakers, this sport-utility vehicle is considered flexible and very capable. The Forester is AWD and it’s great if you need to load the whole family plus the camper gear. Driving it feels like a car, but the features are of an SUV. And don’t worry, the Forester handles perfectly mountain roads even better than the average SUV. A big advantage is definitely the more upscale interior. It offers best of both worlds – good for every day and fully equipped for off-road adventures. Although it is loaded with many features, no matter where you are going, don’t forget a few must have things in your car when you drive.
This short list of great off-road vehicles might help you choose. But, please, feel free to share your top choice.
If off-road driving does not gets your adrenaline high enough, then I would suggest you try driving a Lamborghini, it will do the job!
